SPORTS STARS

Manoj Prabhakar

Manoj Prabhakar is a former Indian Cricketer. He was born in Ghaziabad on April 15, 1963. He used to be a medium spacer (right hand) and a batsman (low order). Sometimes he used to play opening innings also. He took his retirement in 1995 -1996. ICC banned him from playing cricket because of the mach fixing scandal. He took 96 wickets (Test) and made record of 157 runs in One day matches. He also played for Durham. In First class cricket he has taken 385 wickets while playing for Delhi. He was very useful for the team as a lower order batsman also. After his retirement from cricket he entered politics and cosmetic business.

Suresh Raina was born on November 27, 1986 in Muradnagar, Ghaziabad. Basically he is a left hand batsman and also an off spinner. Though he was in Indian Team since 2008 but he played his debut match for Indian Cricket team in the year of 2010. Raina played Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh & Dileep Trophy for Central Zone. In 2003, at age of 17 Raina decided to take up cricket seriously as a career option. To pursue his dreams he shifted from Ghaziabad to Lucknow where he attended Sports College run by Government. He became captain of under 19 team of Uttar Pradesh.
His family migrated from a town of Rainawari, in Jammu & Kashmir, so got the surname "Raina". Raina has been a member of the Indian cricket team for ODIs since July 2008, and was included in the Test squad in early 2006, but did not make his debut until July 2010.
Raina made his Test debut in Sri Lanka as a replacement for injured team-mate Yuvraj Singh, who, like Raina, was a left-hander, a dasher, and in the early 2000s, India's most athletic fielder. For a while it seemed Raina might have earned a long-term Test spot, but in England in 2011 his lack of skill against pace, seam and swing again opened up debates about his ability to be a consistent Test player for India.
Also helping his cause were three supremely successful seasons for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and in the Champions League. He was one of the four players retained by the franchise for the 2011 season.
